Welcome to the Rhetoric, Music, Videogames Wiki
The recent popularity of the music of videogames is bleeding into multiple forms, including symphony productions, rock music remixes, cell phone ring tones, and other varied forms. This independent study will define and historicize rhetoric of music specifically addressing the music of video games. We will investigate the composition (composers like Toshio Kai, Nobuyuki Ohnogi, Nobuo Uematsu, Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, Koji Igarashi, to name a few), forms, and examples of music in video games and rhetorical theories that underlie and emerge from its form. Further we will address how video game music is remixed into multiple musical forms.
